Overview

DocScan Pro turns the phone camera into a document scanner and organiser, with a built-in tracker that warns you before important documents expire.

What It Does

• Scan with the camera (with flash control) or import from the gallery
• Clean up scans: Original, Grayscale, B&W and Enhanced modes, plus brightness, contrast, crop and rotate
• Multi-page documents: add, reorder and delete pages
• Save as PDF and view it in the built-in PDF viewer
• Share as a PDF or JPG via WhatsApp, email, Google Drive and more
• Folders such as Work, Personal, Legal, Finance and Medical, with sorting and search
• Compliance tracker: log licences, certificates, contracts, insurance and tax filings with expiry dates, and get reminders before they expire
• Settings: PDF quality, dark mode and PIN lock

How It's Built

• Image processing (filters, enhance, brightness and contrast) uses ColorMatrix on the device.
• PDF output uses Android's built-in PdfDocument API.
• Room database stores documents, pages, folders and compliance items.
• Expiry reminders: a periodic WorkManager job checks compliance dates and sends notifications.
• MVVM architecture, with a mix of Kotlin and Java.

Status

Complete and installable as an Android app. Not yet published on Google Play.
