Face Shape Analyzer

Overview

Face Shape Analyzer finds a face in a photo, estimates its shape, and recommends hairstyles, glasses and beard styles to suit it.

What It Does

• Upload a photo from the gallery or take a selfie
• Face shape result: Oval, Round, Square, Heart or Oblong, with a confidence score
• Recommendations for hairstyles, glasses styles and beard styles for that shape
• Face Shape Types guide explaining each shape
• Tips for a good photo: face the camera, use even lighting and keep a neutral expression

How It's Built

• Face detection uses Google ML Kit, on the device, so the photo is never uploaded.
• Shape classification: the shape is estimated from the proportions (height-to-width ratio) of the detected face, and a confidence score is calculated for the result.
• Images load through Glide.
