Overview

Heart Rate Monitor measures your pulse with nothing but the phone's camera and flash. Place a fingertip over the lens and watch a live pulse wave appear.

What It Does

• Result screen with the reading, its zone (from below normal to peak) and health advice

How It's Built

• Photoplethysmography: with the flash lighting the fingertip, the camera sees tiny colour changes as blood pulses. The app tracks those changes frame by frame, detects the peaks and converts them to beats per minute.
• Custom waveform view draws the live pulse wave.
• Charts for history use MPAndroidChart.
• Privacy: no account, no ads and no analytics; readings stay on the device.
