WiFi File Transfer - Share Files

Overview

WiFi File Transfer sends files between Android devices over the local Wi-Fi network, with no internet, no cables and no cloud.

What It Does

• Send any file type: photos, videos, music, documents, APKs and more
• Multiple files in one transfer
• Receive mode shows a QR code and the device's IP address
• Scan the QR code to connect, or type the IP address
• Received files listed in the app

How It's Built

• Built-in file server: the receiving phone runs a small socket server on the local network, and the sending phone streams files straight to it.
• QR pairing: the receiver's address is encoded as a QR code with ZXing, and the sender scans it to connect without typing.
• Local only: both devices just need to be on the same Wi-Fi network; nothing goes through the internet.

Tech Stack

Kotlin, Java sockets, ZXing (QR generation and scanning), RecyclerView.

Status

Complete and installable as an Android app. Not yet published on Google Play.
